Damned Elagabalus
This award winning project consists of three parts of experiential environmental design for the Mercati Di Traiano Museo Dei Fori Imperial. It includes a temporary museum exhibit as well as a separate permanent exhibit and outdoor experience.
This was a collaborative experiential project between two interior designers, an architect, and a graphic designer.
The designs throughout this project are connected through their differing interpretations of the concept of deviation.
Applications I used in this project include: Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop

Damned Elagabalus
Damned Elagabalus is a temporary exhibit designed for Mercati Di Traiano Museo Dei Fori Imperial.
We used this concept to highlight Elagabalus shift from the traditional norms and conventions of an emperor of the time. This is conveyed through innovative visual exploration, unconventional materials, and deliberate utilization of lighting techniques.
The logo consists of two variations for more accessibility due to the language barrier. It aims to highlight Elagabalus shift from the traditional norms and conventions of an emperor of the time. This is conveyed through innovative visual exploration and deliberate unconventional distortion. This branding allows the opportunity for breaking and distorting letters and type throughout the exhibit. It also opens up the option of using interesting geometric shapes as graphics to highlight/callout text. This typeface was chosen because it has the most versatility and legibility throughout the exhibit.
The use of the asterisk throughout the brand was chosen to represent the romans censorship of Elagabalus as well as be a symbol that represents his correlation to the sun.

Milzie Gardens and Torre Delle Milzie
The Milzie Gardens and Torre De Milizie are situated outside the Mercati di Traiano Museo dei Fori Imperiali. Our task was to design the gardens as a vibrant third space for the community, while also drawing visitors to explore the historic tower and museum. Additionally, we developed a permanent historical exhibit within the tower, guiding visitors through its stories as they ascend the steps to its reveal.
Overall both the garden and towers branding imagery and architectural shapes mirror that of the shape of the garden as well as the steps leading up to enter the main attraction, the Torre Delle Milizie.
Caffe Giardino
Caffe Giardino is a permanent community and cafe space located in the Milizie gardens.
The Trajan Market Community Garden and Caffe' Gardino aim to foster community relationships by intertwining history, nature, and of course, good coffee. The new garden space aims to be a mixing pot for new connections and perspectives.
Caffe Giardino’s branding consists of interchangeable, organic floral image shapes that are representative of flowers in Rome. They are used as a portal of discovery for information and the world around us for a new perspective.
Torre Delle Milizie
The Torre Delle Milizie’s Branding consists of a dynamic trapezoid shape with a classic serif font that allows a seamless interaction with the space and tower. The dynamic shape changing and interacting with the various graphics and logos throughout the brand symbolize the ever evolving city and the transformations the tower has been through during its lifetime.
